The Steam Spring Sale usually takes place in mid-March, typically around March 13 to 20, and lasts approximately one week. Valve confirms exact dates shortly before launch. The Spring Sale marks the first major discount event of the year on Steam, making it an attractive starting point for building your PC game library. Set up price alerts on your wishlist titles before the sale begins so you receive notifications the moment discounts go live.

The Spring Sale is shorter and somewhat smaller in scope, lasting one week compared to the two-week duration of the Summer Sale and Winter Sale. However, discount depths are often comparable, especially on older titles and indie games. Newer releases that launched in January or February may see their first Steam discounts during the Spring Sale. If you are looking for the deepest possible prices on a broad selection of titles, the Summer and Winter Sales remain the best events, but the Spring Sale should not be overlooked.

Indie titles, AA games and older AAA releases tend to see the deepest cuts during the Spring Sale, with discounts reaching 60 to 90 percent. Games released in the previous autumn and winter often receive their first meaningful discounts here. Early Access titles also frequently participate. For brand new releases from the first quarter of the year, expect modest 10 to 20 percent discounts. Check our historical low page during the sale to identify titles at their all-time cheapest price.

Absolutely. Keyshops and authorized retailers frequently match or beat Steam Spring Sale prices. Some third-party stores run their own spring promotions that overlap with the Steam sale. XD.deals compares all sources in real time, so you can spot the cheapest option instantly. For a broader view of all PC game deals across every store, check our main deals page.

Steam runs four major sales each year. After the Spring Sale in March, the Steam Summer Sale follows in late June for two weeks. The Steam Autumn Sale arrives in late November around Black Friday. The Steam Winter Sale closes out the year from mid-December through early January. Between these events, Steam hosts themed festivals, publisher sales and genre-specific promotions. Check all Steam deals any time for current offers.

Start by reviewing your Steam wishlist and setting target prices for each title. Create price alerts on XD.deals so you get instant notifications when deals go live. Research price history on game pages to understand typical discount patterns for each title. When the sale starts, compare Steam Store prices with third-party key prices before purchasing. Remember that prices stay fixed for the entire sale duration, so there is no need to rush your purchases.

The Steam Spring Sale typically lasts about one week, making it shorter than the two-week Summer and Winter Sales. Despite the shorter duration, thousands of games receive significant discounts. All prices remain fixed throughout the entire sale period, so there is no rush to buy on day one. Use the time to compare Steam Store prices with offers from authorized keyshops to make sure you are getting the best deal available.

If you are not in a hurry, the Spring Sale is definitely worth waiting for. Games released in the previous holiday season often see their first meaningful discounts here. However, keep in mind that the Steam Summer Sale in June typically offers deeper discounts on a wider selection. For indie titles and games that have been out for over a year, the Spring Sale discounts are often just as good as the Summer and Winter Sales. The best strategy is to set up price alerts on your wishlist and buy when the price hits your target, regardless of which sale event triggers the drop.
