Season 11 of The Finals just dropped, and this time Embark is sending us to space. Galaxy Masters went live on July 9 alongside patch 1.000.147, and if you have been grinding cashouts since launch, you already know the drill: new map, big balance shakeup, and a fresh Ranked climb to chew through.
We dug through the notes, so here is what actually matters.
The headline addition is Galaxy Estates, a map built by COMETA that sits inside a giant space habitat. Picture quiet suburban streets and mid-century modern mansions perched over the curve of a colony, all floating in orbit. It looks gorgeous in stills, but the real story is movement. The arena is packed with Speed Tunnels that fling teams across zones fast, so rotations should feel snappier than anything we have played on so far. If you like chaotic third-party plays, this one is built for you.
This is the big one. Embark reworked melee from the ground up: a proper lunge mechanic, a dedicated melee crosshair, a Stamina system, Precision Hits, and a bunch of weapon tweaks. The goal is more counterplay, so getting bonked by a sword-swinging Heavy should feel less like a coin flip and more like something you can actually react to. We will see how it shakes out once the sweats get their hands on it, but on paper it is a long overdue fix.
Do not expect fresh weapons or specializations this season. Instead Embark went the balance route. The APS Turret is the standout change: its cooldown no longer ticks down while it is deployed, though it got some buffs to make up for that hit. Expect the usual wave of small nerfs and buffs to reshuffle the meta.
New this season are personal performance bonuses. Play well in a match and you earn extra Ranked Score, scaling with both your performance grade and your current tier. There is also a new onboarding system to stop tossing fresh players straight into the meat grinder. Small change, but a smart one for a game that lives or dies on its player count.
Season 11 is live right now, so boot it up and go grab that first win. Playing Heavy or Light this season? Loving the new melee or hating it? Drop your take in the comments.
