Dying Light: The Beast - Release Date, System Requirements, and Price

Dying Light: The Beast, from Polish developer Techland, arrived on September 18, 2025. Kyle Crane, the lead from the original Dying Light, makes a comeback with Roger Craig Robertson providing the voice work once more.

The project began as planned DLC for Dying Light 2, but it expanded so much that Techland released it as a complete standalone title. It revisits the series' core elements: first-person parkour, intense close-combat fighting, and zombies, now set in the alpine area of Castor Woods. After 23 years as a test subject for Baron, Kyle Crane has become a mix of human and volatile, and he sets out for revenge. Players gain access to Beast Mode, four-player cooperative play, and an open world with vehicle handling features.

Dying Light: The Beast - Release Date

Dying Light: The Beast launched on September 18, 2025. Techland stuck to this date after announcing it early in 2025, with no delays occurring. The release happened worldwide at the same time across all next-generation platforms.

The game became available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. Versions for PS4 and Xbox One are under development, though specific release dates remain undisclosed. Techland prioritized the newer hardware to maximize technical capabilities. There is no exclusive deal for any platform: it debuted fully across multiple systems.

Dying Light: The Beast - PC System Requirements

Minimum requirements: Intel Core i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT graphics card (or Intel Arc A750 as an option), 16 GB of RAM, 70 GB of SSD storage, and Windows 10 64-bit.

Recommended requirements: Intel Core i5-13400F or AMD Ryzen 7 7700 processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT graphics card (or Intel Arc B580), 16 GB of RAM, 70 GB of SSD storage, and Windows 10 64-bit. Notably, Techland has included Intel Arc cards in the official list, ensuring full support for that graphics ecosystem.

On the minimum setup, The Beast runs at 1080p with medium settings. Systems with an RTX 3070 Ti or Radeon RX 6750 XT can handle 1440p smoothly at high settings using DLSS or FSR. Owners of RTX 4080 and higher might aim for 4K, though ray tracing can strain even the best graphics cards. As usual, Techland has tuned the engine for various hardware, offering wide-ranging option adjustments.

About Dying Light: The Beast

Kyle Crane, the star of the first Dying Light, returns after 23 years held in the labs of the mysterious Baron. The experiments turned him into a human-volatile hybrid, granting supernatural abilities while forcing him to battle an inner beast. After escaping, Crane arrives in the alpine region of Castor Woods to seek vengeance on his captors. Roger Craig Robertson reprises his voice role, signaling to long-time fans that Techland values the original story's legacy.

The gameplay mechanics echo the fundamentals. First-person parkour stays central, but it's now in the rural, mountainous Castor Woods, altering the environment's layout significantly. Beast Mode introduces enhanced melee attacks and environmental destruction when Crane transforms. Weapon and vehicle durability emphasize survival, requiring players to manage resources carefully. Up to four players can join online co-op, a typical feature for the series. The open world also includes vehicle mechanics, a fresh addition for covering long distances between zombie outposts.

There are multiple editions. The standard one includes the base game, the Deluxe adds the Castor Woods Prepper Bundle (which has a Prepper outfit, SMG, and Roadhog vehicle), and the Collector edition comes with extra physical items priced at 89.99 EUR.

Dying Light: The Beast - Price

The standard edition costs 59.99 USD, 59.99 EUR, or 49.99 GBP. The price in PLN has not been set in an official unified list, but in Polish stores, it launched around 239-269 PLN.

The Deluxe edition is priced at 69.99 USD or 69.99 EUR, with GBP and PLN values to be announced. The Collector edition costs 89.99 EUR, with USD, GBP, and PLN prices still pending.

Pre-order bonuses are tied to the Deluxe edition. It provides the Castor Woods Prepper Bundle, featuring a Prepper outfit, SMG, and Roadhog vehicle. This package offers meaningful cosmetic and gameplay elements that affect the early experience.

What We Know About Dying Light: The Beast

Techland, a Polish studio with a strong background in the Dying Light series, presents The Beast as a return to the first game's principles. Turning the DLC for Dying Light 2 into a full standalone game highlights the project's substantial potential. Bringing back Kyle Crane with his original voice actor serves as thoughtful fan appeal. The Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded edition includes additional weapon packs and cosmetics, but Techland has not announced major DLC expansions yet. The focus is on optimization patches and minor content updates.

The Beast has already seen some price drops, and costs often decrease further after major content patches.
