Siegehand is a strategy collectible card game available in early access on PC. Players build decks from faction and neutral cards, manage minions that can attack or contribute to construction, and aim to either destroy an opponent's castle or complete their own monument. The game emphasizes choices each turn between aggression and development while supporting both live matches and asynchronous play.
Gameplay
Each turn requires deciding how to use minions, which serve as both attackers and builders. Most minions can perform one action per turn, either striking at the opponent or advancing work on the monument. Special abilities sometimes allow extra actions, creating opportunities to pressure defenses or accelerate construction while the opponent focuses elsewhere. Victory comes from reducing the enemy castle to zero or finishing the monument first.
Deck construction starts with selecting a hero, castle, and monument from one of four factions. The deck holds thirty cards drawn from that faction plus neutral options. Attackers push damage, builders support monument progress, defenders protect positions, and spells provide swings in momentum. Finding combinations that fit a personal approach involves testing resilient units, timely spells, and powerful arrivals that shift the board state.
Collection building centers on the Foundations set of 339 cards. Packs contain five cards with at least one rare or better, and holographic versions appear at low odds on eligible rarities. Gold earned in play purchases commons from an in-game trader, while duplicates can be sold or sealed for an auction house. Promotion cards reward ranked progress and never appear in packs.
Game Modes
Live matches include unranked and ranked play against other players. Ranked ladders run separately for live matches, expeditions, and arena runs, with tiers from bronze through master. Reaching higher tiers unlocks distinct promotion cards once requirements are met. Win streaks in qualifying ranked games add gold bonuses to the shared war chest claimed by the victor.
Asynchronous options let players advance at their own pace. An expedition uses a brought deck against AI-controlled snapshots of player decks. Arena runs involve drafting a fresh deck for a roguelike experience with choices at illustrated crossroads, opportunities to reforge cards, and a final guardian encounter. Both modes feature their own progression multipliers and separate leaderboards.
Practice against AI opponents spans five difficulty levels. Offline saves support bot battles, solo expeditions, and arena runs with earned currency, though progress stays separate from online accounts and real-money features remain unavailable offline.
Progression and Rewards
Gold spent on cards and hero powers contributes to a war chest that the winner claims along with any remaining resources. Expedition and arena runs carry their own multipliers. Chapter placement prizes reward qualifying players at the end of each period, though the current Foundations chapter has no fixed end date.
Controller support includes D-pad navigation, shoulder button tab switching, and pointer controls for inspecting cards and directing battlefield actions. The game runs fully online for player matches and the auction house or offline for single-player content with Steam Cloud sync when connected.
Is It Worth Playing?
Siegehand suits players who enjoy collectible card games with resource management and dual-purpose units that force meaningful decisions between offense and development. The free-to-play model starts with two starter deck options and lets players earn gold and tokens through matches, while real-money pack purchases stay disabled during the initial stability period.
Early access covers roughly one year across the first four chapters, with balance, clarity, and progression adjustments guided by player feedback and match data. Card stats, costs, and rewards remain subject to change during testing. Those interested in shaping an evolving strategy title through participation in ranked ladders, asynchronous runs, and collection growth will find direct avenues to contribute and receive rewards tied to performance.
