About Royals7

Royals7 - about the game

Royals7 is a strategy game for PC that blends arithmetic puzzles with competitive board control. Players claim cells on a grid by forming target numbers from a hand of cards using specific operations, with the first to align four claimed cells in a row, column, or diagonal securing victory.

Gameplay

Each cell displays a number that must be constructed exactly using cards valued from 1 to 6. A hand holds five cards at the start of a turn, and plays consume one to three of them along with up to six operations. Concatenation joins digits such as 9 and 6 to reach 96. Exponents raise one value to the power of another. Multiplication and division require exact integer results with no fractions allowed. Addition and subtraction permit negative intermediates. All evaluations proceed strictly left to right without standard precedence rules, so the sequence of operations directly affects the outcome. The board highlights every reachable cell based on the current hand, and an optional results list shows all possible values along with the exact operations needed to achieve them.

Two distinct rulesets shape the experience. Royals 7 operates on a 6x6 grid with two-digit targets and flexible operation choices. Decree restricts each column to a single permitted operation shown on its banner, limits plays to exactly two cards, and uses single-digit targets. In Decree an Edict can be issued once per match to destroy an entire column, shifting remaining columns left and introducing a new one at the end. This shift can complete lines for either player, with victory going to the non-caller if both finish a line simultaneously.

The 48-card deck contains eight copies of each value from 1 to 6. Cards leave the hand immediately upon use but replenish only at the start of the next turn. When the deck empties, the discard pile shuffles back into play, ensuring matches never end from card shortage though hand quality varies.

Game Modes

Local play supports two players sharing one device with alternating turns. Computer opponents offer three difficulty levels for solo practice. Online matches allow hosting or joining across a network. The Proving Grounds consist of eight one-move challenges that introduce core mechanics for both rulesets and can be replayed at any time.

Three board configurations alter setup. The standard layout remains identical across sessions with each number appearing exactly twice in symmetric positions. Mirrored boards generate fresh symmetric arrangements under the same fairness constraints. Random boards draw each cell independently with weighted frequencies that favor common numbers. Every printed target remains reachable with the available deck.

Board Variety and Accessibility Options

Players select from the three board types before each match to suit preferred balance or unpredictability. Fullscreen mode, reduced-motion settings, and brisk animation toggles accommodate different play styles and hardware. The interface automatically lights eligible cells and supplies operation breakdowns on demand without dictating which cell to claim.

Is It Worth Playing?

Royals7 suits players who enjoy mathematical reasoning combined with tactical positioning. The dual rulesets provide distinct strategic layers, while the recirculating deck and variable hand management add ongoing decision depth. Local, computer, and online options cover casual sessions through competitive matches. The Proving Grounds offer structured entry points for learning both systems. Those drawn to precise calculation and spatial planning will find repeated value in experimenting with operation sequences and board control across the available configurations.
