Ordanum is a strategy indie game built around a combo-centred PvP auto battler system on PC. Players arrange Sigils in specific orders to form wands, where the sequence of casts triggers interconnected reactions that determine combat outcomes.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on experimentation with Sigil placement and ordering. Each arrangement activates reactions from an interconnected codex, and modifiers allow adjustments to efficiency and power. Passives accumulate to support ongoing builds, encouraging repeated tests of different sequences to discover effective synergies. The system rewards careful planning of cast order because small changes in positioning can shift how reactions chain together during battles against other players' creations.
Game Modes
Main Mode supports asynchronous battles against other players, allowing matches without requiring simultaneous online presence. The 1v1 lobby provides direct queuing options, including matches against friends or random opponents in a first-to-5 format that emphasizes targeted competition and quicker resolution of series.
Core Mechanics
Sigil combination forms the foundation, with the reaction codex serving as the central tool for discovering unique wand configurations. Modifiers expand options for refining performance, while passives provide layered support that builds across multiple tests. This creates a loop focused on iteration, where players refine orders and combinations to optimize wand strength before entering matches.
Is It Worth Playing?
Ordanum targets players who enjoy strategic experimentation in a PvP setting with asynchronous and direct match options. The emphasis on reaction order and build customization suits those drawn to systems that reward testing different arrangements over time. As an upcoming title with no user reviews available yet, its appeal rests on the described mechanics for fans of indie strategy games centered on combo creation and competitive wand battles.
