About One of You

One of You - about the game

One of You is an indie casual adventure title for PC that places six to ten players inside a locked gothic mansion where escape requires coordinated puzzle solving while hidden roles create constant suspicion among the group.

Gameplay

Players awaken together in the decaying mansion with three distinct exit routes available. The front door requires a four-digit code assembled from scattered papers that provide the numbers and carved symbols that dictate their sequence. The basement exit uses an eight-digit code with inverted logic, so approaches that succeed upstairs fail below. The roof demands six ladder pieces collected throughout the building and assembled under a symbol-based lock. Each match randomizes the codes, paper locations, and symbol placements, preventing any fixed solutions from carrying over between rounds.

Matches last between three and seven minutes. At the end of each round, participants receive ninety seconds for open discussion followed by a secret ballot to eliminate one player. Votes directed at an Admin carry no weight, leaving the group unable to remove those roles through majority decision. Survival depends entirely on opening at least one exit so the entire group can leave together.

Proximity voice chat forms the core communication layer. Players hear breathing and footsteps from nearby rooms but lose contact the moment someone turns a corner. Optional voice filters add variety during late-night sessions. Players can upload personal photos to customize character faces, turning the mansion into a space populated by recognizable friends.

Visuals draw from PSX-era low-poly models with heavy fog that limits visibility. A flashlight illuminates only the immediate path ahead, leaving the surrounding darkness to heighten tension during exploration and confrontation.

Game Modes

The experience centers on repeated matches that follow the same structure of puzzle solving, item movement, and voting. No separate named modes exist beyond this core loop. Every session reshuffles the environmental elements, ensuring fresh challenges without reliance on memorized layouts. The Admin role introduces asymmetry within the shared match format, allowing one or two participants to alter the environment after items are discovered or to disrupt ongoing escape efforts directly.

Discussion and voting phases occur consistently after each round, creating a rhythm of short exploration bursts followed by group deliberation. The absence of traditional mode variety keeps focus on the interplay between puzzle mechanics and social deduction across every play session.

Role of the Admin

One or two players begin as Admins who already understand the escape routes. These individuals cannot be removed through votes and instead focus on interference. They can plunge rooms into darkness, reposition papers and symbols after discovery, or move ladder pieces to hinder progress. Admins also know the identity of any fellow Admin while the rest of the group remains unaware. This setup turns the Admin into an active obstacle that forces the others to solve the exits despite deliberate sabotage.

The Admin perspective shifts the game toward direct manipulation rather than pure deduction. Success for the group still requires an exit to open, which means Admins must balance disruption with the risk of the entire party escaping if their efforts fall short.

Is It Worth Playing?

One of You suits groups that enjoy social deduction combined with light puzzle solving and proximity voice communication. The short round length and reshuffled layouts keep sessions brisk while the Admin sabotage mechanic adds a layer of asymmetry that changes how players approach each match. The low-poly gothic aesthetic and limited flashlight range reinforce the atmosphere of uncertainty without relying on complex graphics.

Players who prefer games built around discussion, hidden roles, and cooperative problem solving under pressure will find the core loop engaging. Those seeking extensive single-player content or a wide selection of distinct modes may find the focused multiplayer structure less appealing. The game remains available on PC and supports the described voice features for groups looking for a compact social experience.
