About ManaPop!

ManaPop! - about the game
Note: This game is in Japanese only. All in-game text is Japanese, with no English option at launch.
Game Features

A new kind of Puzzle × Magic Battle!!

♦ Fight with magic! A competitive falling-block puzzle game!

Connect and clear the falling Mana to build up magic power (your Mana Stock), then pick your moment and cast a Spell!

Spells damage your opponent when they hit.
When a spell hits, it also drops *Junk Mana onto your opponent's board along with the damage.

Clear! Store! Cast! Strike!
That is the basic flow of the game.

*Junk Mana … Can't be cleared by connecting it. As it piles up, there is less room for other mana, and if your board overflows, you lose

How a battle is won
- Reduce your opponent's HP to 0 or make their board overflow with mana, and you win.
- If your HP reaches 0, or your own board overflows, you lose.
- If time runs out, the player with more HP wins.

♦ Cancel out spells

When your opponent casts a spell, stay calm and cast one back!
When the two spells collide, they cancel each other out, with one of these results:

  • Your spell is stronger … It cancels theirs, and yours hits them
  • Equal strength … Both spells cancel each other out (no damage)
  • Your spell is weaker … It reduces the damage of their spell, but you still take the rest

♦ Each character's signature move

Every character has different stats and one signature move of their own: the EX Skill.
EX Skills also charge as you clear mana, and once full, you can unleash them whenever you choose.

Timing your EX Skill is the key to victory.

Story Mode

Set in Asteria Magic Academy, each character's story unfolds around the Trial of Succession.

Prologue (excerpt)

Long ago,
the world was ruled by beings known as Demons, and shrouded in deep darkness.

Then a certain person created Magic.
It became the signal for a counterattack, and the long war against the Demons came to an end.

More than a hundred years later, in an age of peace,
Magic was passed down to later generations, along with the name of the one who defeated the Demons.

Asteria Magic Academy:
a school that has raised many mages, regardless of race.

Now, its apprentices are about to face the Trial of Succession, the gate to becoming full-fledged mages.

A trial to inherit the will of those who came before, passed down together with Magic.

Flare (Fire) Human / Age 15

EX Skill: Reflect … Reflects your opponent's spells for a while

Rei (Light) Elf / Age unknown
Headmaster of Asteria Magic Academy, and an educator who has raised many mages.
Calm and gentle in manner, but never holds back in the Trial.
