About LUDOCOR

LUDOCOR - about the game

LUDOCOR is a strategy indie casual game for PC that transforms the familiar Ludo board into an endless cosmic survival challenge. Players manage pawns across a corrupted track where scoring builds through multipliers and steps while corruption steadily advances. The experience centers on push-your-luck decisions as runs extend deeper into layered board floors without any endpoint or victory condition.

Gameplay

Core scoring ties directly to each pawn through the formula of multiplier times steps times aura, with points remaining attached until a cash-out sweeps everything clockwise into the bank. Falling short of the sprint quota ends the run immediately. Four houses define pawn behavior: hearts restore health, diamonds speed movement, spades target evil entities, and clubs remove corruption. Face cards bring unique abilities, with only jacks able to reach the home lane and trigger an alpha state that doubles aura for the entire board.

Each pawn carries a house-specific ultimate that activates after sufficient movement with a filled vessel. Clubs trigger a flood that cleanses corruption in place, spades perform a culling that drains evil while gaining strength from the strongest target, hearts deliver an outpouring that heals allies, and diamonds launch a cavalcade that advances other pawns. Rank affects the scale of these effects, and activation consumes half the vessel as the primary resource cost. The rot vial increases every round a player holds position, and moving pawns risks flipping them to evil. Evil pawns then advance autonomously each round, draining life from others and growing stronger from stolen value.

Board strata add depth through multiple floors. Hell layers multiply step value by doubling factors while introducing doom rolls that can permanently remove pawns. Heaven consists of three storeys offering higher multipliers but with grace rolls that eject everyone when triggered. Movement between floors requires completing half or full circles around the ring. A slot machine called the bandit accepts coins for pulls that deliver one of seven jackpots or a curse, including suit triples, purges, multipliers, alpha crowns, or extra cards. Between sprints a shop offers a 104-card pool of movement tricks, purges, control tools, portals, wards, insurance, and engines, with hand slots available for purchase.

Game Modes

The game operates as a single endless score-chasing survival format built around repeated sprints and cash-outs. Runs auto-save between rounds, allowing players to quit and resume later from the title screen. Progression occurs through accumulating score on pawns, managing corruption levels, and navigating floor transitions rather than through separate selectable modes. Chained dice add explosions on sixes, while classic Ludo elements like deployments, bumps, and retreats remain available as tactical options.

Key Mechanics and Progression

Corruption management forms the central tension, as every held round fills the rot vial and every move risks turning pawns evil. The swarm of corrupted pieces scales with player aggression, advancing together and feeding on passed souls. The bandit slot machine introduces high-variance rewards that can shift momentum through buffs or direct intervention against evil. Card purchases between rounds provide tools to mitigate risks or amplify scoring, turning the shop into a key decision point where limited hand space forces prioritization.

Pixel art presentation pairs with synthesized audio for all effects and music. Controls emphasize mouse input with minimal interface elements, keeping focus on board interactions and one primary lever for actions. The absence of traditional menus supports quick session starts and continuous play.

Is It Worth Playing?

LUDOCOR suits players who enjoy strategic board game adaptations with heavy risk-reward loops and roguelike survival elements. The endless format rewards careful aura management and timely cash-outs while punishing overextension through corruption and doom rolls. Those drawn to classic Ludo mechanics will find familiar movement and bumping intact alongside new layers of house ultimates, floor multipliers, and the bandit system. The game supports short or extended sessions through its auto-save feature and lacks any multiplayer component, focusing entirely on solo runs. Its indie scope delivers a focused experience centered on score chasing without additional content layers or seasonal updates. Players seeking casual strategy with cosmic twists and crunchy pixel visuals may find the depth in pawn management and corruption navigation engaging over repeated attempts.
