About IronFlux

IronFlux - about the game

IronFlux is a real-time strategy game developed as an indie title for PC. Players command one of three stranded civilizations on the moon Veyra, where ancient Monoliths serve as key objectives and the local environment responds dynamically to mining operations. The core loop centers on rapid base expansion, continuous resource collection, and multi-domain combat while racing to establish a Flux relay for potential escape.

Gameplay

Metal and energy flow steadily into each player's economy and are consumed directly during construction. Factories support queues of up to ten orders that can loop automatically, with the ability to distribute a single queue across multiple selected facilities for efficient scaling. Flux, collected from scattered shards, powers elite units that exceed standard technological limits. Combat spans fifteen unit classes operating on land, at sea, and in the air, while field structures can be upgraded to MK2 variants for improved performance. Native life forms on Veyra react to every mine, adding environmental pressure that influences expansion decisions. All factions draw from the same shared economy, Monoliths, and base unit roster, yet each follows a distinct doctrine that alters unit behavior and tactical priorities.

The Cindral Vanguard emphasizes defensive resilience, granting reduced damage to stationary units positioned near completed structures. The Zephyrine Court prioritizes mobility, fielding faster units at the cost of lighter armor. The Pelagic Choir maintains balanced performance without speed or durability penalties, offering consistent reliability across varied engagements. These doctrinal differences encourage different approaches to positioning, aggression, and map control even when using identical core units.

Game Modes

Three primary modes shape the experience. Ascendancy focuses on claiming and holding Monoliths to achieve victory conditions tied to map dominance. Annihilation emphasizes total elimination of opposing forces. Classic RTS delivers a traditional format centered on base building and army clashes. Horde Attacks can be toggled on in any mode, sending escalating waves of native creatures against every base at increasing frequency and scale.

Skirmish matches pit players against AI opponents across thirty-two hand-crafted maps that support two to eight commanders, with additional procedural battlefields available. Customization options include team assignments, starting positions, sixteen player colors, adjustable army sizes, and per-seat bot difficulty levels. Online multiplayer accommodates up to eight participants through Steam hosting with a six-digit join code or direct invites. Matches include a resume feature that restores all players to their positions if the host disconnects. Watch All Bots converts any configuration into a spectator match that can run at speeds from one times to sixteen times normal pace.

Campaign and Supporting Systems

The campaign includes Basic Training alongside the opening missions for each of the three factions, totaling ten playable missions. Saves and replays rely on a deterministic simulation engine for consistent results. An in-game Getting Started guide explains controls, faction doctrines, available modes, settings, and background lore. These elements provide structured entry points before players move into open skirmish or multiplayer sessions.

Is It Worth Playing?

IronFlux targets players who enjoy large-scale real-time strategy with asymmetric faction doctrines, steady resource streams, and flexible production tools. The combination of land, sea, and air units plus optional environmental threats from native life creates varied tactical layers. Skirmish customization and the spectator mode suit those who prefer experimenting with AI opponents or observing bot-only battles. Multiplayer support up to eight players with resume functionality appeals to groups seeking reliable sessions. The campaign offers a modest single-player story introduction across the factions. Because the game remains unreleased with no user reviews available, its reception will depend on how the described systems perform once players access the full build. Those drawn to indie RTS titles that emphasize doctrinal differences and map control over standard base-building loops may find the feature set compelling upon release.
