About Idle Mage: Conquest

Idle Mage: Conquest - about the game

Idle Mage: Conquest is an idle incremental RPG for PC where a single mage pushes through waves of enemies, conquers zones, and climbs a permanent meta through repeated Ascensions. Combat runs on its own while players focus on school selection, spell unlocks, upgrades, and timing resets for greater long-term power.

Gameplay

Enemies appear in real-time waves across six zones. The mage auto-attacks and casts unlocked spells while building Aura Charge from kills to trigger temporary power increases. Mid-zone bosses appear along the way, and reaching wave 100 leads to a zone final boss. Death returns the mage to a checkpoint, but gold and mana crystals carry over to strengthen the next attempt.

Five spell schools shape each run. Fire delivers burst damage and burn effects. Ice applies slows and crowd control. Arcane emphasizes sustain through lifesteal and resource synergy. Lightning chains damage and applies shock. Holy provides smite bursts and healing support. Elemental weaknesses and resistances encourage switching schools when facing tougher foes. New schools unlock through encounters with master mages or by locating tomes and scrolls.

Three progression layers operate on different timescales. Gold funds temporary stat upgrades lost on Ascension. Mana crystals unlock and enhance spells on a permanent basis. Arcane Dust collected during Ascension purchases global multipliers that persist across resets. Players Ascend when progress slows, resetting soft gains but starting future runs from a higher zone with stronger permanent bonuses.

Materials gathered from foes feed the Workshop for crafting potions, scrolls, and equipment. These items equip before runs to refine builds. Offline gold accumulates between sessions, allowing players to return, adjust the active school, and continue without losing momentum.

Game Modes

The core loop centers on wave survival and zone conquest. Runs advance automatically through escalating enemy groups until a final boss falls or the mage falls. Checkpoint returns preserve key resources for incremental improvement.

Mini dungeons provide shorter challenge runs with distinct enemy sets and scaled difficulty. These offer rare crafting materials on cooldown when the main wave grind feels repetitive. The Bestiary tracks defeated enemies while achievements mark milestones in zone progress and spell mastery.

Progression and Builds

Each Ascension accelerates future runs by raising the starting zone and applying permanent multipliers. Gold spent on run-specific upgrades gives way to mana crystal investments that expand spell options permanently. Arcane Dust then layers global power that compounds over multiple resets. Workshop items add another layer of customization through potions and gear that sharpen specific school strengths or cover weaknesses.

Elemental matchups reward experimentation. A fire-focused build might clear early waves quickly but struggle against ice-resistant bosses, prompting a mid-run school swap. Permanent spell enhancements from mana crystals allow deeper specialization while Ascension bonuses keep overall power climbing.

Is It Worth Playing?

Idle Mage: Conquest suits players who enjoy incremental progression and automated combat with strategic decision points around school choice and reset timing. The loop of pushing zones, managing resources across short and long timescales, and refining builds through crafting and school switches provides steady advancement even during offline periods. Those who prefer active control over every action or narrative-driven experiences may find the focus on meta climbing and wave survival less engaging. The structure supports both short check-in sessions and longer planning around Ascension timing.
