Hexpanse is a real-time space strategy game where you build an empire one system at a time. Start with a station and a single ship, mine the asteroids, design your fleet piece by piece, and extend your dominion over a galaxy that is entirely procedurally generated.

Design every ship

Nothing is imposed. Assemble your ships and stations block by block: hulls, engines, thrusters, weapons, shields, drills, construction docks, factories. Form dictates behavior — a ship with no maneuvering thruster must move forward to turn, a broadside only covers its own flank, a station stays motionless. It's up to you to balance mass, power and energy.

A mining economy

Everything starts with the asteroid. Send your miners to extract eight raw resources, refine them into steel, circuits or munitions in your station factories, and feed your shipyards. Dry docks, warehouses, cargo haulers: build a supply chain that runs itself.

Fleets that think

Program your ships' doctrine. Eight tasks — mine, escort, patrol, attack, explore, repair — that you rank by priority. Your fleets mine, deliver, defend and explore on their own while you focus on the overall strategy. Take back control at any time.

Conquer the galaxy

Victory is counted in systems held. Plant stations, contest the enemy's, drive back their fleets. The fog of war gives nothing away: you only attack what you can see, and the map is revealed by scouting.

Solo and multiplayer

Play alone against AI, or take on other players online and over LAN. In solo, speed up time ×3 or ×5 to watch your empire flourish.

A universe handcrafted in code

Every ship, every planet, every asteroid, every sound is generated on the fly as pixel art. Nothing is imported: one coherent art direction, from the first menu to the last shot.

An experiment: a game built 100% with AI

Hexpanse is a solo developer's experiment: seeing how far one person can go building a complete game with AI. The code, the art, the voice-over and the translations were all created with AI tools, then directed, shaped, tested and assembled by a single person. Early Access extends the experiment: I read your feedback, keep the suggestions I find most relevant, and fold them back in with AI to evolve the game. You don't just report bugs — you directly steer what Hexpanse becomes, hand in hand with its community.
