Welcome to the Hermes Library. It is the main library of the Hephaestus University, the most famous university in the United Nation of Europa. As a junior named Rainn Echo, you will become the new librarian working at the front desk. While performing your daily duties, you will also witness several mysterious incidents there.
ăHow to Become a Capable Librariană
You will help students, faculty members, and alumni to check out and return books. Using the workbook provided, you will check if every reader has complied with the library's rule: if they have checked out more than they should, if they have returned everything on time, if they have used their own ID card... Pay attention to details, and you will become an outstanding librarian!
Work time is divided into two parts: the morning and the afternoon. You will need to help about 12 readers every day with their return and check-out. During their conversations, you will get a glimpse into the lives of these students, professors, and alumni and piece together a rich campus environment.
Check-out: the reader needs to provide their ID and the book they want to borrow. If they have a reservation, they will tell you the title of the book so that you can take it out of the reservation area on the left. The first step of check-out is to use the scanner on the ID card. The information of the reader will appear on the screen on the right. You need to check the information and make sure that they are using their own ID and they have the authorization to borrow. Then you can press the "receipt" button on the bottom of the screen, type in the title of the checked-out book and the return date, and press "print." Then you can give the printed receipt along with the ID card and the now-checked-out book to the reader.

As you handle many books at the front desk, you will find hidden information in them. By collecting and utilizing what you may find in the books, you will uncover the truth behind the incidents happening at the university. Maybe you will get to know some special people as well.
The Hephaestus University experienced several abnormal incidents since the beginning of the term: a certain award-winning professor is rumored to act inappropriately towards students? A philosophy PhD student died under suspicious circumstances? Furthermore, body parts preserved by the medicine department was stolen by an unknown person? Is there any truth in the rumor? Did the PhD student commit suicide or was there a killer on campus? What is the goal of the culprit who stole dead bodies? Different arguments and theories are passed around in the Hermes Library in silence, but they also fuel passionate debates. Collect pieces of information from these notes and help the detective and the reporter find the truth behind these incidents.

During every lunch break, you can take a break with your best friend Lilith Puck at the Cafe in the Hermes Library and talk about the news of the day. Every weekend, as the librarian on break, you can go and experience different activities with your friend: parade, club fair, exhibition...... All novelties and innovations from the steam punk world.
ăDaily-Updated News Bulletin Boardă
The news bulletin board is updated daily to bring you the latest information about the incidents. It also advertises for interesting activities on and off campus. A variety of clubs and student organizations also put their description and recruitment information here. Notes from certain special people resonate with you. Keep communicate with them, and you may develop something deeper with them. When you return to your dorm after work, you can check all the notes you have collected. The salary paid by the library can also be used to purchase different kinds of decorations and blank notes.
