About Fix it, Please!

Fix it, Please! - about the game

Fix it, Please! is an indie simulation and adventure game set on PC that places players in the role of a low-level bureaucrat inside the PIX CORP tower. The experience centers on processing identification forms, monitoring security feeds, handling maintenance requests, and navigating a persistent time loop in a dystopian corporate environment.

Gameplay

The core loop revolves around a single shift at a badge window on the evening of Friday, July 21, 2000. Players examine forms for accuracy against a staff database, verify seals for forgery, compare photos to the person at the glass, and decide whether to issue, deny, or escalate to security. Additional duties include watching cameras for intruders, clearing a queue of eight IT tickets with varying deadlines, and inspecting parcels against floor directories while using an X-ray scanner on suspicious items.

Tools expand options during inspections. A UV lamp reveals hidden details on documents, a call to HR provides background checks, and personnel file photos help spot inconsistencies. The queue moves on its own timetable, with waiting individuals growing impatient and leaving if delays mount. False security calls or ignored camera events carry consequences that affect the ledger at shift end.

Between shifts the game tracks resources through a ledger system. Housing, meals, and equipment upkeep deduct from earnings, while the supply depot offers upgrades such as improved lamps, camera filters, extra phone lines, coffee, or even a cat. Special days introduce rule changes for one shift, including commissions, crunches, pest control, or payday. A town card index of 160 residents persists across runs, recording past interactions and fueling rumors that trigger specific events.

Game Modes

The primary structure consists of a training shift followed by three loops of the same Friday. Each loop builds on prior knowledge as the tower and its residents remember previous decisions. Players collect evidence across these runs to unlock one of nine endings, ranging from simple departure to more obscure outcomes tied to the loop itself.

Additional modes include Endless Friday for extended play, Daily Shift that uses a shared seed for consistent daily challenges, and a hardcore variant that increases difficulty. Thirty-three achievements track progress across these options. Local co-op supports two or three players, with one handling the database and another managing the window, while a third can oversee the curator role. Online features allow chat participants to vote on queue decisions and permit sending custom forms or parcels to other players via personnel numbers, though the full story functions without a network connection.

Time Loop and Progression

Every run resets to the same Friday, yet the environment evolves. Residents recall prior encounters, grudges form, and conversations reference the loop directly after the first cycle. Evidence gathered feeds into an archive folder, and a surviving locker in the archive carries items forward for future attempts. Hidden within the badge terminal are several old games that provide brief distractions during downtime.

Controller support maps every action to dedicated buttons, allowing full shifts without a keyboard and mouse. The roguelike structure emphasizes careful observation and resource management, with three strikes ending a run and forcing a restart from the training shift.

Is It Worth Playing?

Fix it, Please! suits players who enjoy deliberate simulation mechanics combined with roguelike repetition and narrative discovery. The focus on inspection, timing, and persistent world memory rewards attention to detail and experimentation across loops. Co-op and optional online elements extend the experience for groups, while single-player remains fully viable. As an upcoming title with no released reviews or post-launch updates available, its appeal rests on the described systems of bureaucratic tension and time-loop storytelling. Those drawn to indie adventures that blend routine tasks with escalating consequences will find the verified mechanics a strong match.
