About Draw It, Forget It

Draw It, Forget It - about the game

Draw It, Forget It is an indie casual simulation game for PC centered on quick sketching and memory challenges. Players face a stream of prompts that must be drawn under tight time limits, followed by distraction tasks designed to scramble recall before the sketches reappear for identification. The experience emphasizes speed and humor over precision, with no drawing skill required to participate.

Gameplay

The core loop begins with rapid drawing rounds where a series of prompts appears one after another. Each prompt receives only a few seconds of sketching time, leaving no opportunity for refinement or restarts. Once the drawing phase ends, distraction challenges intervene to push the original prompts from memory. Sketches then return, and players attempt to match them to the intended subjects. The format rewards quick thinking and accepts imperfect results, often leading to comedic mismatches during the reveal phase.

Customization options allow players to adjust drawing time and the number of distraction challenges per round. Difficulty presets provide starting points, while an optional setting introduces groups of confusing prompts with similar shapes to increase the challenge during guessing. After each round concludes, players review all sketches and can save favorites to a local History Gallery for later viewing.

Game Modes

Solo mode structures each round around sketching, memory distractions, guessing, and a final reveal. Players progress through the sequence independently, with settings that scale the intensity based on chosen presets or custom values. This mode supports repeated play sessions focused on personal performance and collection of memorable sketches.

LAN multiplayer offers two distinct party modes for 2 to 6 players on the same local network. In Everyone Draws This, participants submit prompts that the group votes on to select one for drawing. All players then create their version of the chosen prompt and vote on the most accurate and most abstract entries. In Pass It, Twist It, each player starts with a unique prompt. Drawings pass around the group, with each participant observing, remembering, and redrawing what they receive. The chain ends with guesses about the original prompt before the full sequence appears for comparison.

Customization and Features

Game settings extend beyond basic difficulty to include toggles for confusing prompt groups that cluster similar subjects together. These options heighten the guessing difficulty without altering the fundamental drawing or distraction mechanics. The History Gallery remains local to each installation, allowing players to curate and revisit standout sketches from completed rounds.

Key mechanics include time-limited drawing, memory-scrambling distractions, and round recaps that highlight both successes and humorous failures. The design ensures accessibility, as results depend more on speed and adaptability than artistic talent. Remote online multiplayer remains in development and is scheduled for the full release, leaving the current version centered on solo play and LAN sessions.

Is It Worth Playing?

Draw It, Forget It suits players who enjoy casual drawing challenges mixed with memory elements and light social competition. The solo mode provides repeatable short sessions that emphasize personal improvement and collection of odd sketches. LAN modes add group interaction through voting and chain-based drawing, making them suitable for local gatherings where participants seek quick, laughter-filled rounds without complex rules or skill barriers.

The game appeals to those comfortable with imperfect drawings and unpredictable reveals, as the humor often stems from how far sketches diverge from originals. With support for 2 to 6 players in LAN settings and adjustable parameters for pacing, it offers flexibility for different group sizes and experience levels. The planned full release will expand options further once remote play arrives, but the existing solo and LAN focus already delivers the core experience described in the mechanics.
