About Deduction Society

Deduction Society - about the game

Deduction Society is a single-player strategy and RPG title built around deduction mechanics across multiple mystery formats. Players select from a roster of detectives, assemble skill decks, and tackle cases without needing other participants. The experience centers on logical reasoning, character progression, and narrative exploration within a connected multiverse of stories.

Gameplay

Core play revolves around choosing a detective with unique intelligence ratings and skill cards, then applying those tools to solve scenarios. Clue cards reveal hidden information, hint cards provide directional guidance that improves with higher intelligence, exclude cards remove suspects from consideration, and utility cards manage energy or grant temporary advantages. Progress unlocks additional detectives through main story completion, side achievements, and rank advancement. A built-in note system automatically records dialogue and clues while allowing manual timeline organization. Challenge mode introduces a ranked ladder alongside script-specific goals, while free play lets users filter content by mode, difficulty, tags, and estimated length. A visual script editor supports drag-and-drop node creation and AI-assisted generation for custom content that can be exported and shared.

Game Modes

Seven distinct modes operate within the same engine. Murder Mystery places the player as a third-person investigator who interrogates suspects, examines scenes, assembles evidence, and participates in voting to identify the perpetrator. Identity Hunt adapts the werewolf structure with night skill resolution, daytime discussion, and exile voting; more than twenty roles span Good, Evil, and Neutral factions, supported by AI personalities that range from impulsive to cunning. Undercover emphasizes word descriptions and elimination voting in a lighter format where civilians and hidden players present statements. Visual Novel delivers branching narratives driven solely by choices and multiple endings. Tabletop RPG focuses on scene interactions and attribute checks during free-roaming roleplay, where meeting thresholds unlocks options at a cost. Situation Puzzle presents lateral-thinking challenges resolved through yes-or-no questions. Creepypasta requires survival by adhering to emerging uncanny rules, with each decision potentially activating taboos.

Mystery Universe and Progression

The main storyline begins with a mansion murder and expands across eras and genres, unlocking new chapters and areas upon completion. Side stories explore individual detective backstories and activate only under specific conditions. More than one hundred official scripts span beginner to hardcore difficulties and short to extended playtimes, each featuring closed clue structures and consistent internal logic. Collectible detectives bring distinct personas and exclusive card sets that influence strategy across modes.

Is It Worth Playing?

Deduction Society suits players who enjoy single-player deduction experiences and narrative-driven strategy without requiring a group. The variety of modes provides options for different session lengths and intensities, while the skill card system and detective roster encourage repeated playthroughs with varied approaches. Since the game remains in development with a planned release in Q4 2026 and currently shows no user reviews, prospective players may wish to monitor updates on mechanics and content volume before committing. Those drawn to logical puzzles, branching stories, and AI-driven social deduction loops will find the most direct appeal in its design.
