Captain Capy: Roguelike Space Crafter
Captain Capy: Roguelike Space Crafter puts you in the four-toed feet of the galaxy’s most unlikely hero, a capybara astronaut. Armed with a ramshackle ship and an endless sense of wonder, Captain Capy ventures into a dangerous asteroid belt filled with derelict ships, glittering salvage, and the lurking threat of a rogue AI. The game blends cozy charm with adrenaline-fueled action, delivering a classic roguelike experience with a whimsical twist.
As a 2D space shooter with rich crafting mechanics, gameplay revolves around exploration, improvisation, and intense combat. Each run through the asteroid field is unique, presenting new procedurally-generated challenges and surprises. Blast apart debris and enemy drones to collect scrap, then craft upgrades on the fly, turning piles of junk into potent weapons, shields, and gadgets.
Every piece of salvage can be repurposed into something useful, whether it’s a laser cannon built from spare parts or armor plating hammered out of old satellite panels. But beware: the rogue AI overseeing this sector isn’t about to let a capybara scavenge freely, and it will throw swarms of robotic foes and hulking boss ships in your path.
Persistence pays off. Between runs, you’ll return to your base to unlock permanent upgrades and tinker with your ship. Carry over precious materials or data to improve Captain Capy’s chances on the next expedition – new engine modules, stronger hulls, enhanced crafting blueprints, and more become available as you progress.
Each defeat is a learning experience, allowing you to dive back in a little stronger and a lot wiser. Whether you’re a hardcore roguelike fan or just love a good space adventure, Captain Capy offers a journey that is equal parts heartwarming and thrilling, combining the pulse-pounding replayability of an action roguelike with the cozy vibes of a lighthearted sci-fi tale.
