With the Feather River Canyon Enhanced — Premium Scenario Pack, you’ll climb aboard for memorable passenger, freight, unit-train, local, and switching operations across the length of the legendary line from Oroville to Portola, California.
Included (as complete locomotives) are two potent Western Pacific freight diesels, the Electro-Motive GP35 and General Electric U30B, both wearing “Perlman era” green and orange liveries!
With the Feather River Canyon Enhanced — Premium Scenario Pack, you will:
- Take the throttle of a classic and stunning Western Pacific EMD FP7 to lead the famed California Zephyr across the length of the WP’s famed Third Subdivision. In a three-part scenario, you’ll make the westbound descent of the Feather River Canyon with the “Silver Lady,” and make station stops at Portola, Keddie, and Oroville.
- Climb aboard a pair of Western Pacific General Electric U30Bs wearing green and orange liveries to handle challenging local and switching duties on a run through the heart of the Feather River Canyon west of Keddie.
- Work a priority freight – Train BN 138 – in a three-part scenario from Oroville up the canyon to Keddie and onto the rugged Inside Gateway, calling upon a typical mix of Burlington Northern and Western Pacific second-generation diesel power.
- Handle heavy Western Pacific symbol train UCW loaded with Utah coal as it eases its way westbound down the grades of Feather River Canyon with a trio of Western Pacific GE U30Bs providing the horsepower – and dynamic braking – for the tough descent.
- Call upon a pair of veteran Western Pacific Electro-Motive GP9s to work an eastbound local turn along the east end of the WP Third Subdivision, with switching duties en route at Spring Garden and Sloat.
- Serve as engineer of EMD GP35-powered Western Pacific hotshot freight APRG (auto parts bound for Rio Grande interchange) as it makes the eastbound climb of the Feather River Canyon and Beckworth Pass en route to a crew change at Oroville.
