Awakeroots is a hand-drawn game created with passion by two brothers – a programmer and an artist – set in a world inspired by Slavic folklore, where nature and magic intertwine. You take on the role of settlers – pioneers venturing into wild, mythical lands where every day is a struggle for survival. Build walls, workshops, and traps to protect your settlement from lurking dangers. Cultivate the land, harvest crops, and satisfy your people’s hunger before night falls. When darkness descends, the world becomes hostile and unforgiving – only those ready to face Slavic monsters will survive until dawn.
Build and Expand Your Settlement
Start with nothing and grow your settlement from the ground up. Construct workshops, storage buildings, and defenses. Strengthen your walls, set up traps, and prepare for attacks from both nature and the unknown.
Explore the Wild Lands
Venture into the unknown, traverse forests and swamps, uncover ancient relics, hidden places, and the secrets of distant tribes from faraway lands. Across the entire map, you’ll find various resources, minerals, and rare gems essential for developing your settlement and crafting powerful tools. The farther you push into the wilderness, the greater the risk of encountering older and more powerful monsters — but also wandering travelers and merchants from whom you can obtain exotic items.
Battle Slavic Monsters
Face creatures from ancient legends – Leshy, Rusalka, Południca, Utopiec, and other dark beings that haunt dense forests and forgotten ruins on the edge of the map.

The current version of the game is only a showcase build. It contains several limitations and does not yet include all planned features.
