"Wizard's Guide" is a strategic RPG that combines "puzzle" and "rogue-lite" elements. Players act as a novice wizard sets off with a magicbook in order to find the beautiful elf he enamored at. Core gameplay is the magic elements: activate them in various ways to release magic, defeat enemies, progress through maps and the storyline.

Map structure may dynamically changes based on player choices. Sometimes, players must explore back and forth between different areas of the stage to achieve certain goals; some maps even have specific objectives that must be completed to unlock new regions. Enemies encountered along the way include not only ordinary monsters appearing alone but also powerful groups formed by multiple monsters.
