Tsukiyo: Battle Doll is a handcrafted 2D Japanese steampunk pixel-art action platformer, blending brutal hack鈥檔 slash combat, gore-heavy encounters, and a deadly, skill-based combo system.
Each fight is a violent ballet of speed, precision, and blood鈥攎erging classic platforming with relentless action.
You play as Tsukiyo, an Angel of Death forged by the very system she enforces.
STORY OF THE DEMO
In an alternate 18th-century Japan, twenty years before the events of the game, the country stands on the brink of collapse. The shogunate is weakening, and the people are rising in protest to reclaim their rights.
Faced with this turmoil, a revolutionary invention鈥攖he Heart of Steam鈥攃hanges everything. Both the people and the shogunate gain access to it after its inventors deliberately leak the blueprints. What follows is a period of massive industrialization, during which the population seizes power and forges a new social order, free from state control. From this upheaval emerges a vast, futuristic, industrial anarcho-capitalist city.
The people believe they have rid themselves of the shogunate and the ruling elites during this era of peace and prosperity. In reality, those elites have merely retreated into the shadows, patiently devising a plan to regain control of the population鈥攖his time by making the people believe they need them.
Our protagonist is the instrument of this plan. She is tasked with carrying out the shogunate鈥檚 dirty work. Legends surround her, yet no one has ever seen her, nor even heard her voice. Many believe she once served as an agent of the shogunate before the Great Steam Revolution.
Her blood-soaked skills make her a crucial piece in maintaining order within the city. From the shadows, she eliminates the shogunate鈥檚 enemies without the population ever knowing the truth.
Your first mission as Tsukiyo is to investigate鈥攁nd attempt to annihilate鈥攁 clan founded by a former general of the Dragon Clan, an organization that existed before the Great Steam Revolution. This clan has stolen classified military technology to establish its own village and form the Cicada Clan, a society deliberately isolated from machines, industrialization, and the Dragon鈥檚 Claw.
