"Gear of Glass: Marionette of Time" is a visual novel with RPG elements. You control a heroine named Emily, moving through locations and making plot choices. Your choices will determine not only your fate, but also Emily's character. To do this, the game provides four characteristics that are upgraded depending on how you respond to characters: Intelligence, Charisma, Power and Perception. Emily's behavior will change according to which characteristic dominates.

Gregory is a distant relative of Emily. He is twenty-one years old and determined to run for Parliament in order to change his beloved Unnamed City. Emily treats him coldly, but maybe now is the time to change that.
Christian is the new servant at the Teldonpen estate. He's taciturn, secretive, and emotionless鈥攁 mystery that Emily can't wait to solve. Their social standing, their upbringing, their manners鈥攅verything separates them like an impassable moat. Will Emily give up, or will she walk the whole thorny path to his heart?
Jack is the leader of one of the gangs terrorizing the streets of the Unnamed City. The circumstances of their first meeting are full of unspoken tension. Jack reminds her of a hurricane, just as dangerous and unpredictable. Will she be able to see what he is hiding behind his carefully constructed walls?
