At its core, Combat in the Void seeks to be a game that is both realistic聽to actual physics and also accessible聽to players who don't want to spend 50 hours learning how to work with a physics simulation. While the controls are straightforward, they still provide interesting challenges and decisions for the player to make.
Torpedoes聽can fire at long range and deal lots of damage, but can be intercepted by point defense cannons.
Railguns聽fire at targets within medium range at high velocity. However, they are also expensive to run, so only larger ships have them.
Cannons聽serve a dual purpose by intercepting enemy torpedoes and also firing on short-range targets.
A successful commander uses these three primary weapon systems effectively to defeat his opponent. Experience space combat that actually feels聽realistic!
