In the year 2037 AD, before nuclear fusion power achieved practical application, armed conflict erupted in low Earth orbit between the world’s two major blocs—the Pan-Asia Democratic Cooperative (PadCo) and the Atlantic Treaty Alliance (ATA). This directly caused the complete collapse of the global satellite system. Although major powers immediately halted large-scale combat, regional conflicts persisted.
