The masked agents looked down upon the field where the tents of the Hanataz Carnivalle stood - their breaths聽 forming聽 quiet聽 mists聽 in聽 the聽 cold, night聽 air. The聽 silvery聽 light聽 from聽 Lune贸s聽 shone聽 down聽 upon聽 the colorful canopies and the many wagons... providing the assassins a perfect view of both the Traveling Folk's camp and the Carnivalle proper. The area was quiet save for the few figures that moved among the tents, apparently serving on night-watch duty. Even in the darkness, the leader of the group could tell they were the Hanataz youth - the ones he had noted earlier in the day. And the ones his mistress had spoken of.
Though they were young, she had given him a stern warning about them - and her word was never to be called into question. It was no matter, they would be dead soon enough.
The leader turned to his charges, his voice a hissing whisper: "We shall wait until the Carnivalle closes on the morrow... and bide our time until they have departed this place. 'Tis then we shall do the deed." Looking back to the field, his mouth curved into an evil smile behind his mask. Then, without another word, he nodded to the group, and together they slid silently into the dark forest like shades passing beyond the grave...
Adventure Synopsis
聽The聽 Darkest聽 Dream聽 begins聽 the聽 epic聽 tale聽 of聽 a聽 group聽 of聽 Hanataz聽 youth聽 who聽 are聽 charged聽 with聽 working security for the last Carnivalle of the season. The Hanataz are the Traveling Folk of the world of Zyath茅 and are an ostracized people due to the many Blood-Touched members of their troupes. But while the Traveling Folk are not welcome in most towns and villages, the shows they put on are enjoyed by many.
But this is no ordinary Carnivalle.
Nefarious聽 and聽 vile聽 schemes聽 are聽 afoot...聽 an聽 ancient聽 foe聽 plots聽 deadly聽 revenge...聽 a聽 group聽 of聽 organized criminals looks to frame the Hanataz for murder... and, nearby, creatures from the Dark Below plan an attack聽 on聽 the聽 camp. Beyond聽 this, it聽 is聽 Darktide's聽 Eve, which聽 is聽 a聽 time聽 of聽 frightening聽 and聽 evil聽 portents. Can you and your friends overcome the many dangers set against you, protect the troupe, and solve the mystery of the Darkest Dream?
