No Light Below is a cooperative exploration and survival roguelite for 1–4 players.
You play a team of junior moles sent deep into procedurally generated mines plunged into darkness. Each run challenges players to descend further, gather valuable minerals, and make it back alive while navigating unstable tunnels and hostile underground creatures.
Only a limited number of players are authorized to enter the galleries at a time. The remaining teammates stay in the elevator, assisting from above through voice communication, coordinating decisions and guiding the team. Roles rotate between runs, and players can still split underground by descending into vertical shafts using ropes.
The environment is partially destructible, allowing players to dig new paths and use controlled explosives to access resources or open shortcuts. Light is a critical resource: managing visibility is essential, as creatures react to sound and illumination. Combat exists but is risky and limited, encouraging careful planning over brute force.
A voting system lets the group decide when to extract, take risks, or push deeper for greater rewards. Between expeditions, players unlock new tools and equipment that expand their options while keeping each descent tense and unpredictable.
No Light Below focuses on cooperation, communication, and difficult choices made under pressure, deep beneath the surface.
