Han'yo - about the game

Hiroko, a young samurai girl from ancient Japan, seeks revenge after Oni destroy her village. This 2D side-scrolling action game follows her quest through traditional samurai duels. Quick reactions shape every fight in an ancient Japanese themed fantasy world drawn in ink style. Fast combats mix calm visuals with tense, lethal choreographies. Players master precise timing to survive intense side-scrolling battles. Free to play on PC, it draws in fans of reaction-based action games built from the ground up in C++.



Han’yo is a 2d side scrolling combat game that tells the story of Hiroko, a young samurai girl from ancient Japan. After witnessing her village being destroyed and slaughtered by the Oni, Hiroko has only one goal: revenge. Join her on a journey to find the Oni and avenge her people.

Han'yo is a project developed by Hangover Studios, a team of 2nd Year students at DigiPen Institute of Technology Europe - Bilbao in a 9-month development cycle from the ground up using C++ to develop their engine and game.
