About The Mist: Episode Ⅰ

The Mist: Episode Ⅰ - about the game

Imagine that your life is not like the lives of others. Not calm, not ordinary, but tightly intertwined with problems that prevent you from not just enjoying, but from living a banal life. For example, your lungs are cramped, every breath is difficult, and every day is a struggle for basic things.

And if incomprehensible and mysterious phenomena occur?... How do you like that? And if these mysterious phenomena are... Not just the loss of your TV remote control or glasses... but... the loss of your loved one. Without a trace. Without anything. What would be your actions? Thoughts? Feelings?...

Of course, it would be interesting to try your option, but we are here to observe how Mike acted. The hero of our story.

So what did he do? He wants to solve this problem by finding the person for whom he wakes up in the morning, rushes home from work and basically lives. But will he succeed? I don't think so alone... But he's not alone. Someone is leading him with notes, leading him into the depths of Marilyn's mysterious disappearance...

Will he be able, while simultaneously fighting the incessant attacks of his chronic asthma, to solve all the problems and regain the most important part of his heart - Merlin?...

GAMEPLAY

You take on the role of Mike, a 21-year-old guy suffering from asthma. Throughout the game, you must constantly monitor his condition and the state of his lungs.

Due to his illness, Mike needs to take pills on time or, in critical situations, use an inhaler. Which one to use depends on the situation. Pills take effect about 30 seconds after use and fully restore lung condition. The inhaler works instantly but only restores about 30% of lung capacity. If you fail to take the pills on time or use the inhaler, Mike won’t physically survive the attack. He will suffocate and die, leading to a bad ending.

To help you understand the character’s current state, there is a special indicator in the corner of the screen in the form of “breathing” lungs. The closer Mike is to an attack, the redder the lungs become and the faster they pulse.

During the game, you can freely move around your home and other subsequent locations, including streets, offices, and some shops, which contain drawers, shelves, safes, tables, and other objects where pills, inhalers, or lore notes may be found. Found notes are saved in the main menu, and by hovering over a stack of books, you can access all the materials you’ve collected so far.

Your main goal is to complete the game and fully understand the story presented in this part of the narrative. To progress, you will need to solve various puzzles encountered along the way to unlock new paths.
