APP Radar Sim is a minimalist real-time approach air traffic control simulator focused on realistic radar-based ATC operations.
You take the role of an approach controller, responsible for sequencing arriving and departing aircraft safely and efficiently. Using a clean radar scope, you issue headings, altitudes, and speed instructions, maintain standard separation, and guide aircraft onto the ILS with proper geometry.
The simulation emphasizes situational awareness, timing, and planning. Depending on the traffic flow level you select from the panel bar, you have to anticipate conflicts, manage workload, and make precise decisions under pressure. There are no scripted scenarios — every session evolves dynamically based on traffic flow and your actions.
The interface is intentionally minimalist to enable very quick commands and keep focus on decision-making rather than visuals. The game is easy to start, but mastering efficient sequencing and maintaining separation during high traffic requires skill and concentration.
APP Radar Sim is designed both as a training-style simulator and as a challenging game, offering short focused sessions with increasing difficulty.
Each successfully sequenced arrival and properly handed-over departure earns points, rewarding efficient traffic flow and correct ATC procedures. Mistakes such as incorrect clearances, or missed handovers result in score penalties. Loss of separation results in game over.
Game progression and scores can be saved, allowing sessions to be continued and performance improved over time.
