Belgharh station was the heart of the Dakshini Express and its steam engine, a marvel of Indian engineering, which could pull 8-12 coaches and can run at a speed of the 100 kmph with ease. But after a catastrophic derailment just few kilometres away, the station became an anomaly and time fractured. Today while the modern world thrives outside, the station is trapped in the moments after the crash. The atmosphere is heavy with the memories and presence of the train that was meant to change history, but instead, stopped time at 11:52 PM.
Threshold of Two Eras :
Silence inside this station isn’t the absence of noise-it’s a heavy, crushing presence. For years, authorities have labelled the station a restricted zone and is surrounded by a modern perimeter fence. Two sides of the fence hold two different laws and atmosphere.
