In À la Mine, play as ambitious, sharp-witted dwarves ready to do anything to seize the mine… even if it means being exploited by someone craftier!
This turn-based strategy game for 3 to 6 players blends tense auctions, explosive territory grabs, and sneaky cooperative sabotage in a quirky atmosphere. Crush your opponents and control as many territories as possible—no matter the cost.
Ă€ la Mine unfolds in two distinct phases, offering asymmetrical dynamics:
Phase 1 – Exploration & Conquest
Players explore the mine, seeking the most profitable territories. Each new tile discovered sparks an auction: bluff, bid, or back down… If subtlety isn’t your style, challenge opponents head-on and snatch territories in confrontations!
But beware: only those who manage to connect 4 territories by the end of the day become owners.
Phase 2 – Rivalry & Sabotage
One or more players have taken control of the mine… but the battle isn’t over.
To win, they must connect 6 territories while defending their domain. Meanwhile, the exploited won’t sit idly by—they unite in the shadows to sabotage the mine.
Against the owners’ monopoly, cooperation becomes key, and sabotage their sharpest weapon. Unity is power, but treachery rules the dwarves’ world.
Games are spiced up with unpredictable events that shift strategies and tense confrontations to seize or defend critical territories.
Discovered a territory? Start an auction and set the price. But beware—others can outbid you at any time. Watch closely, anticipate, and stay one step ahead: are they bluffing, or waiting for you to falter?
How auctions work:
You set the starting bid.
The auction opens freely: players can bid whenever they want until the timer runs out.
At the countdown’s end, the highest bidder wins… unless they were bluffing—in which case, they’ll pay the price.
Prefer brute force? Pick a territory, attack, and let the dice decide. Whoever rolls the most dynamite wins: victory grants you the territory; defeat means compensating your opponent.
You can reroll certain dice by spending gems. Will you play it safe or gamble everything on a final throw? And if luck deserts you, the merchant might have just what you need.
At the start of each day, a new event shakes up the game. Anything can happen—usually when you least expect it.
Got a flawless strategy planned? You’ll have to adapt and improvise. With a dozen unique events, every match is unpredictable and full of surprises.
