Set in school life, “Who is the Criminal” is a text-based adventure game featuring comedian and inference elements. Teaching in school and titled “Logic Genius”, Bai Qing-Tian is forced to take care of a colleague’s younger sister and solve all sorts of campus pranks and mischiefs. With inquiring suspects and debating with “evildoers”, he gathers pieces of puzzles and reveals what truly happens in every incident.

Background story

A mathematics teacher in Zhen Xiang High, Bai Qing-Tian one day ran into a junior high student Jiang Mei-Hua, who came to search for her older sister and professed to be a police detective. When trying to trace the whereabouts of Jiang’s sister, the pair solved a variety of mischiefs, although with reluctance, such as thefts, malicious graffiti, and pornography loans. Eventually, when they found Jiang’s sister, it turned out to be only a beginning of a cruel murder…...

Features

You can move about the campus, make conversations to gather clues, and compare testimonies between students to narrow down the list of possible suspects. When a duel is initiated, you can prove the criminals wrong and give them slaps in the face with “solid” evidence in the course of debates. Easter eggs are hidden in the stories; flirting, dueling with wrong characters, or intentionally losing your life could trigger unexpected events. The campus is waiting for you to explore.

Three different endings await players. Your investigation, hints collected, and final verdict are variables affecting how the game develops.

Main Character

Jiang Mei-Hua: While claiming to be a police detective in Criminal Investigation Brigade No.4, she is but a junior high student preparing to take the entrance examination. She’s a fast learner but has a demeanor of pride that belongs particularly to eighth-graders, which somehow makes you want to give her a lesson with a smack behind her head. She means to find her older sister who teaches there in Zhen Xiang High. Her hobby is to tell embarrassing stories of her sister.
