FEEDSTOCK is a first-person co-op horror game for up to four players on PC. In it, a team explores abandoned houses to gather items while managing a living creature named Tally that serves as both storage and a growing liability. The experience centers on scavenging, feeding, and extraction under constant pressure from noise-sensitive threats, all without any combat options or traditional inventory systems.
Gameplay
Players enter each house with Tally at a small size. Items collected must be carried in front of the body, which restricts visibility and movement. These objects go directly into Tally, who digests them into usable materials back at the hangar. Feeding causes her to grow in stages, becoming wider, louder, and more irritable with each addition. Doorways that allowed easy passage on entry can require slow, noisy squeezing on exit, drawing unwanted attention.
Four distinct threats inhabit every house. Each responds to different noise levels generated by movement, speech, or Tally herself. Proximity voice chat drives all communication, with walls and distance muffling words so that Tally follows only the nearest speaker. A working microphone is required. When growth becomes unmanageable, players can aim at Tally and hold to force her to expel some items, shrinking her by one stage. This action drains battery power and works more efficiently when two players perform it together. Any items dropped on the floor are quickly collected by something else in the house and lost permanently.
Successful extractions return the group to the hangar. There Tally processes the haul into sellable materials that fund new gear for future runs. The cycle repeats with Tally starting hungry and small again. Each session lasts between twelve and eighteen minutes, allowing several houses to be cleared in one evening. The absence of weapons means every decision revolves around timing, positioning, and careful management of sound and size.
Game Modes
The game offers a single core experience built around short co-op extraction runs. Teams of four coordinate through proximity voice to navigate multiple houses in sequence, balancing loot volume against Tally's expanding presence. No separate competitive or solo modes exist. The focus remains on repeated cooperative sessions where the same core loop of entry, collection, growth management, and noisy exit plays out across different house layouts. Progression comes from gear purchased after each successful return rather than from distinct game variants.
Core Mechanics and Progression
Everything players own travels inside Tally, creating a single point of vulnerability. Overfeeding leads to her becoming a physical obstacle and an auditory beacon. Underfeeding risks her turning on the team itself. Gear upgrades purchased between runs help mitigate these risks through better batteries, improved carrying capacity, or other tools that support the group without introducing combat. The system rewards coordinated play and clear verbal planning over individual skill with weapons or aiming.
Sound design plays a central role. Every action generates noise that crosses room thresholds and alerts the four resident threats. Players must weigh the value of additional items against the increasing difficulty of moving a larger Tally through the same spaces. The result is a tense loop where success depends on restraint, timing, and constant communication rather than firepower.
Is It Worth Playing?
FEEDSTOCK targets players who enjoy co-op horror that emphasizes communication, resource management, and environmental tension over shooting or combat. The unique Tally system and mandatory proximity voice create a distinct experience that stands apart from typical extraction games. Because the title has not yet released, no player reviews or completion statistics are available. Those drawn to short, repeatable sessions with high coordination demands and no reliance on weapons will find the described mechanics a strong match for their preferences. Availability is limited to PC at launch in October 2026.
