Bust Out is a chaotic co-op casino sandbox game that blends action, strategy, simulation, adventure and indie elements on PC. Players join up to seven friends in The Golden Ace, where they gamble at physical tables, drink at the bar, brawl with security and optionally plan a heist on the vault. The experience runs in Early Access starting November 2026 and uses only fictional currency with real odds on every table game.
Gameplay
Core gameplay centers on freeform interaction inside a reactive casino environment. Players sit at tables where cards, dice, the roulette ball and chips appear physically on the surface. Observers standing nearby see the exact same view and can react in real time. Every session ends with a choice to keep playing or cash out at the cage. The casino tracks player behavior through a suspicion meter that rises with repeated wins or suspicious movement through staff areas. This meter shifts the alarm level from Calm to Loud, prompting security to intervene or ban repeat troublemakers. VIP status from big wins brings complimentary drinks, while bribes can temporarily distract guards.
Drinking at the bar introduces physical effects that make the screen sway and turn bottles into improvised weapons during fights. Brawls draw security attention and can result in ejection. Movement between the base district and casino happens on foot, by taxi or in vehicles purchased from a dealership. Character creation includes outfits and emotes, with proximity voice chat active when players stand close together. Friendly fire and melee options exist at three adjustable lobby levels.
Game Modes
The game operates as an open sandbox without timers or mandatory objectives. Gambling against the house covers Blackjack, Casino Hold'em, Roulette, Craps, slot machines, wheels of fortune and horse racing. Player-versus-player options include Texas Hold'em, Liar's Dice, Higher/Lower duels, pool and arm wrestling. These activities run simultaneously at different tables, allowing groups to split up or gather around a single game.
Brawling and bar chaos function as emergent activities triggered by player choices rather than separate queues. The optional heist layer begins at a planning table in the base, where crews assign roles such as Face, Hacker, Safecracker or Muscle. Inside the casino, players sneak, knock out guards from behind, hide bodies in containers and steal uniforms for disguise. Vault cracking leads to loot transport, with heavier bags slowing movement. Alarm triggers bring escalating police waves. Successful quiet jobs earn a Ghost rank, while the casino permanently upgrades defenses after each attempt with lasers, keypads, tranquilizer traps and mines.
Base and Progression
Each player purchases a lot in the base district and constructs a personal home with walls, fences, locks and decorations. Personal vaults store winnings safely, though pocket cash remains at risk during casino visits. Trusted friends can attempt to crack these vaults. Security upgrades from repeated heists apply across visits, increasing difficulty for future jobs. No microtransactions or loot boxes exist, and all casino games use verified real odds without rigged outcomes.
Is It Worth Playing?
Bust Out suits groups of friends who enjoy unstructured co-op sessions with freedom to gamble, socialize or attempt coordinated heists. The sandbox structure lets players ignore the vault entirely and focus on table games or bar antics, or commit fully to role-based infiltration. Heists scale best around four players but support one to eight. Early Access status means the initial release includes the core Golden Ace casino and basic heist systems, with planned expansions based on community feedback. Players seeking a lighthearted multiplayer experience without real-money gambling or pay-to-win elements will find the setup appealing, especially those comfortable with occasional friendly fire and cartoonish brawls. Those preferring structured campaigns or solo play may want to wait for further updates after launch.
