The EA App is Electronic Arts' desktop client for PC gaming, replacing the older Origin launcher in October 2022. It serves as both a store and a game library manager for all EA titles on PC. Games purchased through the EA App or activated with EA keys launch through this client. The transition from Origin preserved all existing game libraries and friends lists. If you have EA games bought on Steam, some older titles may still require the EA App to run alongside Steam, though newer releases have moved to native Steam integration.

EA's biggest franchises are primarily available through the EA App: EA Sports FC (formerly FIFA), Madden NFL, NHL, Battlefield, The Sims 4, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Dead Space, and Star Wars titles. Many of these are also sold on Steam, but some older EA titles and certain editions remain exclusive to the EA App. The EA App is also the only place to use EA Play subscription benefits on PC. For the broadest selection of EA games at the best prices, compare offers from the EA store, Steam and authorized keyshops on XD.deals.

XD.deals aggregates EA App key prices from authorized retailers and keyshops alongside the official EA store. Third-party sellers often offer EA keys at lower prices than buying directly. Check the price history chart on individual game pages to see if the current price is near its historical low. Set up price alerts on EA titles you want and get notified the moment a deal appears. During major sales like Black Friday and holiday promotions, EA frequently discounts its entire catalog.

The EA App is a free launcher and store for buying and playing EA games. EA Play is a separate paid subscription service (included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate) that gives members access to a catalog of EA titles, early access trials of new releases, and discounts on purchases. You can use the EA App without EA Play by buying games individually. If you subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate, your EA Play membership works through the EA App automatically.

Open the EA App on your PC. Click on your profile icon in the top left corner and select "Redeem Product Code". Enter the key you purchased from any authorized retailer or keyshop. The game will appear in your library and begin downloading. If you do not have the EA App installed, download it from ea.com. Keys purchased through XD.deals partner stores activate the same way as buying directly from EA.

EA runs major sales during Black Friday, the holiday season in December, and typically during E3/Summer Game Fest in June. The EA Publisher Sale on Steam also brings deep discounts on EA titles available through Valve's platform. Outside of these events, individual games go on sale regularly through the EA App and third-party retailers. For the best prices across all stores, set up price alerts on your wishlist and check the best deals page during major sale periods.
