Kingdom Come Salvation Trademark Hints at Next Warhorse RPG

Warhorse may have just named its next game, and it did it the most boring way possible: with a form. A trademark application for "Kingdom Come Salvation" landed at the European Union Intellectual Property Office on July 23, filing number 019399156. The Phrasemaker spotted it. No announcement, no teaser, no cheeky post on X. Just paperwork.

So why is everyone treating it as real? The filing lists a Prague based attorney whose name and address match the ones on the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance trademark, and the font in the wordmark lines up with what the series already uses. Circumstantial, sure. It is also the exact trail Warhorse left last time.

The studio already told us this was coming

On May 20 Warhorse dropped two lines on X that broke a lot of brains: it is making an open world Middle-earth RPG, and "a new Kingdom Come adventure". Prokop Jirsa and Viktor Bocan, lead designer and design director on KCD2, are running the creative side. So another Kingdom Come was never the question. The name was.

Dropping "Deliverance" says plenty

Deliverance was Henry's word. Two games, one blacksmith's son, one very long road from village nobody to a guy who finally holds a sword the right way round. Calling the next one Salvation instead of Deliverance III sounds like a polite way of saying the camera is moving somewhere else. Or onto someone else. The studio itself keeps saying adventure rather than sequel, and that is the sort of word you reach for when Henry is not necessarily the guy anymore.

In Bohemia, "salvation" is a heavy word too. KCD2 leaves you in 1403, in a country tearing itself apart between Wenceslaus IV and Sigismund. Jan Hus burns in 1415. The Hussite Wars kick off in 1419. If Warhorse wants a period where people are literally killing each other over salvation, it is sitting right there. That is our reading, not a fact, but it is a short hop.

About the online bit

The filing covers class 41, which mentions "entertainment services for matching users with computer games" and online interactive entertainment. The multiplayer headlines followed within hours. Calm down a notch: class 41 is lawyer boilerplate, and studios routinely lock down uses they never touch. Worth a raised eyebrow, not a theory.

When?

Not soon. Reporting around the May announcement put the next Kingdom Come in Embracer's following fiscal year, April 2027 to March 2028, with the Middle-earth game after that. Warhorse keeps repeating that it will say more "when the time is right", and the next obvious stage is Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25.

Meanwhile KCD2 keeps posting silly numbers: 6 million copies as of June 25, after a million in its first 24 hours back in February 2025.
