Best Steam Deals This Week (August 3 - 9, 2026)

Nobody planned for August to be the month your backlog doubles, and yet here we are. Twenty five Steam deals this week, discounts running up to 95%, and sixteen of them sitting in single digits. The really loud one: Gothic 1 just hit its lowest price ever, right as the remake keeps creeping closer.

Highlights of the Week

Gothic 1 at its all time low is the pick of the week, and not only because of the number. With the remake still hovering somewhere on the horizon, this is the cheapest possible way to find out whether the original still bites. It does, by the way. Clunky, stubborn, absolutely uninterested in holding your hand, and one of the most atmospheric RPGs ever made once it clicks.

Black Desert costs less than a bread roll and it is also at its historical low. An MMO this size for pocket change is faintly ridiculous. Character creator alone will eat your first evening, we say that from experience.

Disco Elysium - The Final Cut and Divinity: Original Sin 2 landing in the same list is a bit of a CRPG ambush. One is a detective story where your own skills argue with you, the other is the co-op RPG that ate entire friendships. Both sit around 93 to 95% positive. Pick either and August is spoken for.

Should You Buy Now or Wait?

Five of these are at their historical low, so waiting buys you nothing: Gothic 1, Black Desert, Sea of Thieves, the original Witcher and Tales of the Black Forest. Grab those now or accept you will pay more later.

The EA shelf is a different story. Battlefield 1, 4 and V, Need for Speed Heat, Titanfall 2, Mass Effect and Jedi: Fallen Order have all been this cheap before and will be again, usually every couple of months. If your backlog is already groaning, nothing bad happens if you skip them this round. Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the one we would not sit on though, it rarely goes lower than this outside the big seasonal sales.
