Battlefield 6 Season 4: Pacific Front Adds Naval Warfare

Naval warfare is back in Battlefield, and this time it's not a side gimmick. Battlefield 6 kicks off Season 4: Pacific Front today, July 21, and the whole thing is built around fighting on the water. Boats, jets, choppers, and infantry all crashing into each other across a giant tropical map. If you've been waiting for the series to lean back into its all-out land, air, and sea chaos, this is the update you circled on the calendar.

The centerpiece is Tsuru Reef, which DICE is calling its biggest battlefield yet. Picture a sprawling Pacific archipelago: jungle-covered islands, steep cliffs, crumbling old war bunkers, and a fancy luxury resort sitting right in the middle of the crossfire. It's the kind of map where the fight never really settles, because the terrain keeps shoving you between shorelines.

The waves actually matter now

Here's the part we're most curious about. Season 4 adds a Dynamic Wave System, and it's not just for show. Waves affect how your boat moves, mess with your aim, and change your line of sight. That means you can duck behind a swell to break contact, ride the water for a sneaky flank, or get caught out in the open at the worst possible moment. Water as cover is a genuinely fresh idea for this franchise, and we can't wait to see how the sweaty crowd abuses it.

To get you out there, DICE is handing over two new boats: the RCB-90 Patrol Boat, a two-seat armored gunboat, and the 7.7m NSW RHIB, a four-seat light transport with a mounted machine gun for the passenger. There are also new two-seater jets, four new weapons (the long-range Interdictor sniper rifle being the headline pick), and a fresh Battle Pass stuffed with skins, hardware, and XP boosts.

This is only phase one

Pacific Front is the opening act of a three-part season. Phase two, straight-up called Top Gun, lands August 18, and phase three, Tidal Strike, follows on September 15. The fan-favorite Wake Island also makes its return later in the season, so treat today as the warm-up. There's a new Ranked season baked in too, if you fancy grinding for those sweet rewards.
